Match Preview - Coalville (A - Rearranged)

Olly Burton30 Mar - 16:31

Sleaford will play their game in hand this Tuesday, as they head to Coalville in UCL Div One action oncemore.

In The Green Corner

The Greens will look to turn frustration into positivity tomorrow evening, as a 0-0 draw on Saturday at home to Rainworth MW saw many chances unconverted for the team. Defender and club captain Jonathan Timmins shares these feelings, as he believes there was good that came out of the performance.

"It was disappointing not to get three points given how dominant we were and the number of chances we had, so that is frustrating. However, it is not all negative. We picked up our first clean sheet of 2026, which is something for us to build on going into the final stretch of the season".

Coalville have had a strong season, and it will take the very best from Sleaford to bring points back to NG34. Timmins believes that Town have to be fearless to grab a result. "We will approach it with absolutely no fear and not focus on games in hand or the league table" he said. "Every game between now and the end of the season is critical, and we have to deliver a top performance in each one, with the emphasis on ourselves and how we perform. We know Coalville are a tough side and we are underdogs, but we are hoping to surprise people".

With the season culminating in the last few crunch matches, Sleaford still have to play Radford, Pinchbeck and Holwell - all teams in and around them. The skipper is confident that the team can achieve their goals by the end. "The team will give everything and do all we can to be successful in this final period of the season. We are confident in our ability to achieve our goal, but we also understand that it will take a lot of hard work to get there".

Opposition Focus

On eighty-three points in third, The Ravens are looking firmly at a playoff bid to win promotion. Formerly of step three, you wouldnt put it past the club to bounce back through the leagues in the coming seasons. Their last match however did not go to plan, as the team suffered a three nil defeat to Retford United, one of the title contenders.

An impressive run of nine games prior however, was nothing to be shirked at. Their most significant results in that series of games included beating top of the league Retford FC twice.
