An Introduction To Jamie McGhee

An Introduction To Jamie McGhee

Olly Burton27 Feb - 12:43

Welcome to Sleaford, Jamie McGhee!

Earlier this week, The Greens announced that Jamie McGhee had been appointed as the new manager of Sleaford Town, and that he takes over with immediate effect.

A well-known and respected figure in the local non-league scene, the new boss brings an impressive CV to Eslaforde Park, as an exciting new era begins. As a player, McGhee made two League Two appearances for Mansfield Town before spells at Corby Town, Grantham Town and Boston United.

In his coaching career, McGhee has impressed. Most recently the manager of Harrowby United, he most notably masterminded The Arrows’ UCL Division One playoff victory in 2024. The next season, his work kept Harrowby in the UCL Premier Division, finishing a solid 14th. At the end of November however, McGhee parted ways with Harrowby, sitting out of the game until now.

Jamie has provided an update, reacting to his appointment. “First of all, I’d like to say a big thank you to Sleaford for reaching out to me. The positivity around the club and the way it was spoken about really got me thinking from that first conversation. Although I’d only been out of the game for a short while, that initial contact is what brought me back. I could easily have waited until the new season, but Damon and the board truly sold the project to me”.

“Thank you as well to all the family, friends and supporters for the positive messages about my return to management, it means a great deal”.

“What you can expect from me is hard work, full commitment and a winning mentality. My team and I will do everything we can to get the very best out of this group of lads. There will be additions, but not wholesale changes. We’re looking forward to the challenge ahead and to steering the club away from the bottom three”.

“I can’t wait to see you all and hopefully start with a positive result in our first competitive game tomorrow”.

Jamie gets underway as manager of Sleaford tomorrow, facing Coalville Town. Hear from Benji Zalewski, and take in all the the build up to the game in the latest match preview.
